Anything can be related to anything.

It sounds tautological to headline a blog entry in this manner but it is true. Let me give an example.

Relate the seeb bank on Svalbard to the water tower in Volunteer Park in Seattle, Washington, USA.
1. The water tower has 12 conduits and so does the seed bank structure.

2. The seed bank has a similar spiral staircase of the same age.

3. The water tower is a rotunda. So is the seed bank.

4. The Svalbard seed bank has zero government financing. Check.

So, next time anyone tells you “there is nothing in common” between disparate things, look deeper.
